Service: 1.5 hours
On November 9, over two thousand American flags were set up on the fields of Sierra Vista Middle School in preparation for Veterans Day. This remarkable project, organized by the Covina Rotary Club, was created to honor Veterans for their loyal service to this nation. Additionally, all the proceeds from this fundraiser are used to provide assistance to local Veterans. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the set up; however, on Sunday, November 17th, I worked alongside other Key Club members to help pick up the flags and clear the fields. I feel privileged to have made even a small contribution to this wonderful event. Seeing the multitude of flags set up on the field was truly inspiring. I am so incredibly grateful for all the soldiers who put their own lives at risk for this nation's freedom and safety. I feel truly blessed and proud to call America my home, and it is important that those who dedicated their lives to serving this great nation and ensuring its safety are remembered.
